What every event needs

For an event to be truly successful it helps if you have a great theme song. Of course this means it will be played so many time we will be extremely sick of it. But who can take songs like simply the best without thinking about rugby league. Or You'll never walk alone" without thinking about Liverpool. Or the All Blacks without thinking about the Haka. For Aussies- Delta Goodrum singing 'Together we are one' is all I can remember about the commonwealth games in Melbourne.
Soccer has a history of have good songs for its World Cups. Often they aren't even decent songs- but throw in a few different languages and its a winner- e.g. Ricky Martin with "Uno dos trees (one two three) Ole ole ole" (Cup of life I think is it's real title) from the 1998 World Cup
This seems what South Africa seems to have done with this years Theme song. I don't mind it- what do you think? (keep an eye out for major soccer stars in the crowd)

Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh
Give me freedom! Give me fire !
Give me reason! Take me higher!
See the champions Take the field now !
You define us, make us feel proud!

En las calles muchas manos levantadas celebrando
Una fiesta sin descansó los países como hermanos

Canta y une tu voz grita fuerte que te escuche el sol
El partido ya va a comenzar, todos juntos vamos a ganar
Unidos!!
Chorús spanish
Seremos grandes seremos fuertes
somos un pueblo bandera de libertad
!!!que viene y que va, que viene que va!!!

Chorús English
when Iget older Iwill be stronger
They will call me freedom, just like the waving flag.
Now waving your flag X6 oh ho oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

Danos vida danos fuego que nos lleve a lo alto
Campeones o vencidos pero unidos a intentarlos

In the streets are hands and lifting
As we lose our inhibitions
Celebration is around us, every nation all around us.

Singing forever young, singing songs underneath the sun !
Lets rejoice to the beautiful game
And together at the end of the day.

Proformed K'naan and David Bisbal "Waving flag"
